1. Conference Venue

The University Conference Center “Polo Didattico Carmignani” is located in Piazza dei Cavalieri, 6 in the heart of the ancient Pisa: an amazing historical site.
The “Polo Didattico Carmignani” is a modern, easy assessable and well equipped building, a particularly appropriate place to host the Conference works.
2. How to reach Pisa
Pisa has actually the most dynamic airport of Tuscany. The airport is located near the coast, only one kilometer from the city centre. It has direct access to highways, motorways and railways. It is a hub for many low-cost airplane companies (Ryanair, EasyJet, Vueling…). Website of Pisa Airport “Galileo Galilei”.
From Pisa Airport to Pisa Central Station
Once arrived at the airport, the best way to reach the Conference Venue is by train.
There is a railways station at the Airport terminal, from where you can take trains to Pisa Central station (tickets at the Information counter, on the right of the Arrival exit).
An alternative airport is Firenze Amerigo Vespucci Website
From there take a bus to Firenze Santamaria Novella Railways Station, and then take a train to Pisa (approximately one every 30 minutes). The whole journey (bus+train) will take approximately two hours (for a cost of about €9).
The recommended station is Pisa Centrale (Pisa Central Station) which is a nodal station for high speed and intercity trains from the main Italian cities.
Approximately the train journey is 3 hour from Milan and half and two hour and half from Rome.

From Pisa Central Station to the Conference Venue
From Pisa Central Station you will reach the Conference Venue either walking about 20 min or taking the bus number 13 direction “Cisanello Ospedale” (“Polo Carmignani” is the fifth stop, 10 minutes trip).
A possible alternative is to choose Pisa San Rossore station. There is no bus service from there but the Conference Venue is 15 minutes walk, going through the extraordinary “Piazza dei Miracoli” with its Leaning Tower.
From Northern Italy: Highway A12 (Genova-Rosignano), exit Pisa Nord
From Southern Italy: Highway A12 (Genova-Rosignano), exit Pisa Centro
From Eastern Italy: Highway A11 (Firenze-Mare), exit Pisa Nord
Please note: In the whole city center, you have to pay for the parking of your car at the parking machine and put the ticket behind the windshield.
